The Chester boys and girls teams each took second at a nine-team meet at Red Bud on April 2.

The girls scored 132 points and finished behind Red Bud’s 204 points in a six-team meet. Josie Kattenbraker scored 40 points to win individual honors at the meet.

The boys scored 113 points and took second to Murphysboro in a nine-team meet. Keith Kiner III placed second in the individual honors.

In the girls’ meet, Kattenbraker won the high jump and 300 meter hurdles and took second in the 100 meter hurdles and long jump. Peyton Clendenin won the triple jump. Lauren Soellner was second in the triple jump and high jump, third in the 100 and fourth in the 200. Sam Eggemeyer was third in shot put, with April Amburn sixth. Alyssa Seymour was fifth in discus with Gracey Roth sixth. Avery Runge was fourth in the 1600. Hannah Blechle was fourth in the 100 with Avery Miers sixth. Miers also was sixth in the 200. Madison Kribbs was fourth in the 800 with Taylor Hennrich sixth. Alex Hennrich was fifth in the 400 with Lexus Iverson sixth. Chester was second in the four relay races.

In the boys’ meet, Kiner won the long jump and triple jump and took second in the 400. Aiden Jany won the 100 and took second in the 200. Gage Garniss won the 110 hurdles. Avery Carpenter was third in the 300 hurdles with Conn0r Wolff fourth. Matt Korando was fourth in the high jump. Justin Clendenin was fifth in the 200.Tyler Holm was fifth in the discus and sixth in the shot put. Nathan Fricke was sixth in the 400.

In the relays, Chester was second in the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 and fourth in the 4×800.

The two teams both competed in the Old Settlement Meet April 1 at Ste. Genevieve.
