They Received A Different Memo

Jan. 8 was a Jacket Pride Day at Chester High School, although some people had a different interpretation of the event.

Students and staff were encouraged to wear COVID Jacket Pride shirts or, if they didn’t order one, other Yellow Jacket wear. The idea was proposed by Mrs. Norman and promoted by the school’s unofficial social chairs, Mrs. Petrowske and Mrs. Belton.

Two of the school’s staunchest Kansas City  Chiefs fans — senior Alex Gruenewald and Mrs. Coop — decided instead to wear jerseys representing the defending Super Bowl champions.

Ironically, the Chiefs, with a first round bye in the playoffs, aren’t even playing this weekend.
