The Chester girls’ track team took second in the Rocky Bridges Invitational on May 20 in Chester. The Chester boys placed third.
The Chester girls racked up 201 points. Murphysboro won with 201 points.
The Chester boys scored 125 points. Steeleville won the meet with 151 points.
For the girls, Josie Kattenbraker took first in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and high jump; and second in the long jump.
Hannah Blechle won the pole vault, and Briley Miles was first in the discus.
Lauren Soellner was second in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.
Maleia Absher was second in the 400.
Kailyn Absher was second in the shot put and fourth in the discus.
Ellen McCormick was second in the 200 and fourth in the 100.
Sam Eggemeyer was third in the shot put, Peyton Clendenin placed third in the triple jump and Bethany Baughman was third in the pole vault.
Madison Kribs was fourth in the 800, and Camryn Luthy took fourth in the 100 hurdles.
Maria Nickle was fifth in the 1600 and Jazzi Merideth fifth in the 1600.
Cami Schroeder was sixth in the 100 and Josalynn Anaya sixth in the 800.
The 4×100 relay of Luthy, McCormick, Blechle and Soellner took first.
Taking seconds were the 4×200 relay of Luthy, Blechle, Soellner and Clendenin; the 4×400 relay of Luthy, Blechle, Clendenin and Merideth; and 4×800 relay of McCormick, Schroeder, Cailey Bainter and Merideth.
For the boys, Matt Korando won the high jump.
Jake Cowell won the pole vault and was also second in the 110 hurdles.
Isaac Jany won the shot put and took third in the discus.
Will Schuwerk placed second in the 200, third in the 100 and fourth in the long jump.
Jordan Hughes was second in the long jump and fourth in the 800.
Taking thirds were Aiden Jany in the 400, Jacob Handel in the 800 and Connor Wolff in the 300 hurdles.
Placing fourth were Blake Farmer in the 1600 and Isaiah Ferrell in the shot put.
Jonathan Renfroe was fifth in the discus and Garret Hopkins sixth in the 400.
The 4×800 relay of Handel, Farmer, Hughes and Logan Gregory placed second.
The SMR Relay of Cowell, Korando, Schuwerk and Aiden Jany was also second.
The 4×400 relay of Handel, Hughes, Farmer and Gregory finished third.
