Chester Dominates Sparta, 48-6

The Chester defense had a dominant performance in the win over Sparta.

Chester scored five first-half touchdowns on its way to a 48-6 road win at Sparta Sept. 17.

Isaac Jany scored Chester’s first touchdown on a 21-yard run

Ethan Stumpe and Cooper Eggemeyer hooked up for the next two touchdowns. Stumpe connected with a wide open Eggemeyer on an 18-yard TD pass. They then connected on a 28-yard TD pass. Stumpe also scored a rushing touchdown.

After building a 35-0 halftime lead, Chester scored o  the first play of the second half with Aiden Jany returned a kick-off 78 yards. Jordan Merideth ended Chester’s scoring on a 53-yard run, his second TD of the game.

Merideth rushed for 144 yards and scored two TDs. Stumpe passed for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Eggemeyer gained 46 yards on his two TD receptions. Jared Landeros connected on six extra point kicks.

Matt James led Chester’s defense with three tackles for loss. Jacob Cowell had four tackles, including 1.5 for losses and a sack. Dylan Kelkhoff had three tackles and an interception. Chester had 342 total yards, including 281 yards rushing. Sparta was limited to 152 total yards.
