Jackets Split Road Games


The Chester Yellow Jackets prepared for the Chester Invitational Tournament with two road games that had opposite outcomes.

The final tune-up for the CIT was an impressive 56-40 win at Carterville on Jan. 8.

Jared Landeros paced the Jackets with 22 points and Trace Fricke added 15. Chance Mott contributed nine points, Cooper Eggemeyer six and Ethan Stumpe four.

The win was a spirited bounce back effort after the Jackets lost to Wesclin 71-36 on Jan. 7. Lucas Thompson and Landeros led Chester with nine points each. Mott scored eight, Fricke four, Eggemeyer three, Stumpe two and Koby Jany one.

Chester opens CIT play against Lovejoy on Jan. 11.
