Chester Teams 2nd At Bi-County Meet

Jacob Cowell won the pole vault at the Bi-County Meet.

Both Chester track teams took second at the Bi-County Track Meet April 26 at Sparta.

The Chester girls scored 91 points and the boys’ team 89.5. Waterloo won the girls’ meet with 219 points and Columbia topped the boys’ meet with 159 points.

For the Chester girls, Jazzi Merideth took second in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurldes and fourth in the high jump.

Hannah Blechle took second in the pole vault. Also taking second were the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relays. The 4×800 relay was third.

Camrynn Howie was fourth in the 100 and fifth in the 200.

Paige Vasquez was fourth in the triple jump and sixth in the 100 hurdles.

Briley Miles was fourth in the discus and fifth in the shot put.

Mabry Wingerter was fourth in the long jump and fifth in the high jump.

Kailyn Absher was fourth in the shot put.

Gianna Eggemeyer was fifth in the 400 and sixth in the long jump.

Bethany Baughman was fifth in the triple jump.

Josalyn Anaya was sixth in the 300 hurdles.

In the boys’ meet, Jacob Cowell won the pole vault and took thirds in the 300 hurdles and triple jump.

Also earning a first was the 4×400 team relay team of Blake Farmer, Jacob Handel, Aiden Jany and Will Schuwerk.

Handel took second in the 400.

Isaac Jany was second in the shot put and sixth in the long jump.

Cooper Eggemeyer was second in the high jump.

Schuwerk was third in the 400 and sixth in the 100.

Lannin Caron was third in the pole vault.

The 4×800 relay was third, with the 4×100 relay fourth and the 4×200 relay sixth.

Freddie Alvarez was fourth in the triple jump.

Gabriel Steele was fourth in the high jump and fifth in the 110 hurdles.

The Chester boys had three firsts as it took third in a 13-team meet at Pinckneyville on May 2. Chester had 71.5 points. Du Quoin won with 142 and Nashville was second at 117.

Cowell won the pole vault, took fourth in the 300 hurdles and sixth in the triple jump.

Jany won the shot put.

The 4×400 relay of Farmer, Schuwerk, Handel and Aiden Jany also took first.

Freddie Alvarez was third in the triple jump and Steele third in the high jump.

Handel was fifth in the 400.

Eggemeyer was sixth in the long jump.
