The students in Miss Hodge’s ELA-2 classes have been reading independent novels. These novels are books that the students pick to read over the semester and then do projects on when they finish.
Each student read at least 2 books and did 4 projects throughout the 2021-22 school year, 2 each semester. There were numerous projects to choose from. Some involved more writing like doing a journal entry for a character in the book, while others involved more creativity like a family tree or a comic strip. One of the more popular projects was to recreate the cover of their book.
