The home football game against Freeburg was a tough one for the Yellow Jackets. They lost 7 to 31. It was a rough game but they tried their hardest.
The band played part of their halftime show. The halftime show had music from music that is featured by Carlos Santana. The first song the band played was Black Magic Woman. It was originally released by Fleetwood Mac in 1968, Black Magic Woman was then re-released by Santana in 1970 on the album, Abraxus. The song reached number four on the US and Canadian charts. The chart success, made Santana’s recording the better-known version of the song.
The second song was Santana’s Oye Como Va. It achieved worldwide popularity in 1970. It was recorded by the American rock group, Santana, for their album, Abraxas. It was released as a single in 1971, reaching number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 11 on the Billboard Easy Listening survey, and number 32 on the R&B chart.
The band plans on putting the whole show on the field on September 22nd. That includes marching to the songs and adding Smooth as well.
The next game will be on Friday, September 15 at Christopher High School.
