Memorial Hospital of Chester is doing a Drug Take Back Day. You can drop off any unused or expired medicine at Memorial Community Pharmacy (use West Entrance) 1900 State Street Chester IL 62233 on October 28, 2023 Between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The take back program helps fight unused prescription drugs getting thrown in trash cans. This helps to keep the drugs from being retrieved and abused or sold illegally. Unused drugs that are flushed could contaminate the water supply. Taking expired prescription medications or having unused medications around can lead to accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse.

The non-medical use of prescription drugs is ranked second only to marijuana as the most common form of drug abuse in America.

Let’s keep our children, teenagers, and ourselves safe and give back expired unused medicine.
