CHS Senior, Camryn Luthy, signed her letter of commitment on January 20th, 2024, for golfing to the University of Southern Indiana a Division I NCAA school.
Luthy has been playing golf since she was four years old. She began competing at nine. She was two time Junior Southern Illinois Golf Association “Player of the Year”. In 2022 she was the Southern Illinois Golf Association “Junior Champion”
While in high school, Luthy has earned “All-Conference” golfer 4 times, the distinction of winning the “Lowest Averaged Award”and the “Most Birdies Award” all four years. During her freshman year, Camryn competed in the Black Diamond Conference. She has competed in the Cahokia Conference for the pass two years and was the Cahokia Conference Champion her sophomore year. Camryn has made 3 IHSA Sectional Golf March appearances and 2-time “All-South Golfer” Selection.
Besides golf, Camryn has also played volleyball for two years and ran track for one year. During her Senior year, she has already complete her golf season. She played basketball after taking a two year break. This spring will be the third year that she will play high school softball.
Aside from golf, Luthy is involved in many other activities and extracurriculars through Chester High School, some of them including, the Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, The Hive, Students against Destructive decisions, yearbook staff, Spanish club, The Sting newspaper, and the environmental club.
In college,Luthy decide to major in Finances and plans to work in that field. She also plans to continue her path in golf and also be involved in many other activities.
