Mrs. Surman’s last day at Chester High School was February 2nd. After working for 12 and half years at Chester High School and 4 years at Chester Grade School, Mrs. Surman has decided to retire to spend more time with her family and enjoy the little things in life that mean a lot to her, including her niece Scarlett. Mrs. Surman began working at the grade school in 2007 when her daughter started kindergarten. Now her daughter is 21 and has one semester left at SEMO until she graduates with a BSN in Nursing. She has a son who is 26 and also graduated from SEMO with a business degree four years ago. Mrs. Surman is very excited to have more time to continue to watch them reach their goals.
Mrs. Surman has spent the past 12 and a half years at Chester High School being a wonderful Paraprofessional, helping students, teachers, and staff. But most importantly she is a friend to all.
Her favorite dress-up day was 90’s decade day at the high school when she teased her hair up like when she was in high school.
Mrs. Surman’s favorite class that she has been in is Ms. J’s food class. She enjoys baking and cooking. Her favorite cookies are chocolate chip and decorated sugar cookies.
The one thing that she is going to miss is being around the students and staff. She has enjoyed her time at the high school.
We wish Mrs. Surman the best of luck in her future. She will be missed by students and staff.
