The Chester Girl’s Basketball team beat Steeleville in Chester on January 18th. Steeleville is now coached by Chester’s head coach last year, Clint Cowan.
During the first quarter, the Jackets were leading 15 to 7 with Lexie Mott (8 points), Aubrey Coleman (3 points), Jesse Stumpe (2 points), and Emma Diskey (2 points) all scoring. By halftime, the Jackets were still leading 31 to 16. Jazzi Merideth and Rylie Conley both scored 3-pointers and Camryn Luthy and Lillian Diskey each scored a 2-point as well.
During the third quarter, Chester’s lead went from 31 to 16 extending to 42 to 27. At the end of the game, Chester won with a final score of 48 to 33.
Lexie Mott scored 17 points including 12 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, and 2 blocked shots.
Jesse Stumpe scored 7 points including 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
Aubrey Coleman scored 7 points, including 2 steals and 1 assist.
Lillian Diskey scored 5 points, including 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
Rylie Conley scored 3 points, including 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
Jazzi Merideth scored 3 points, including 1 rebound, 2 steals, and 1 assist.
Camryn Luthy had 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
Aubrey Colvis had 1 rebound and 1 block.
Riley Lochhead had 1 assist and 2 steals.
