The seniors in Band, Cheer, and Dance teams got recognized, on February 13, at the Boys Varsity Basketball game. This year the 2023-24 Dance Seniors are Josalynn Anaya, Amanda Kennon, Kaylie Springston, and Grace Welborn. Each one of these girls made a strong impact on the team before they left.
Each one of the seniors was asked what their favorite memory was for the 2023-2024 dance season.
“Qualifying for state,”(Anaya).
“Staying the night at the hotel before state,”(Kennon).
“ Qualifying for state,”(Springston).
“Qualifying for state my senior year,”(Welborn).
After this year, Josalynn has decided to go to SWICC and become an ultrasound tech nurse. While in high school, Josalynn was in cross country and track for all four years of high school and dance for her last year of high school. She was also in Basketball her sophomore year and Volleyball her Freshman year. Anaya was also the boy’s basketball manager for one year of her high school career. While in high school Josalynn has been involved in The Sting, SADD, The Hive, Student Council, Band, and Spanish Club.
Amanda has chosen to go to McKendree University to study to be a Registered Nurse. Amanda will also continue her dance career as a Bearcat dancer. While at CHS, Amanda was on the cheer team her freshman year and dance her sophomore-senior year. She also did track her sophomore year. She was involved in NHS, Choir, Marching band, FCA, Theater, Environmental Club, Spanish Club, Student Council, The Hive, and SADD.
Kaylie has not yet decided where she wants to go but she will be studying cosmetology and being an esthetician. During her high school career, Kaylie has danced every year of her high school career and she’s been involved in The Hive, SADD, FCA, and The Sting.
Grace doesn’t know what college she is going to go to but she will be studying to be an accountant. Grace has done dance and volleyball for all four years of high school. While in high school, Grace also was involved in The Hive, SADD, and FCA.
