Mascoutah High School hosted the Section 22 FFA Ag Mechanics competition on Thurs, April 17. Students from eleven different schools competed by completing examinations of their practical abilities and knowledge in the fields of surveying, welding, carpentry, electrical, and small engines.
The three people who participated competed in small engines, welding, and electrical since our squad was shorthanded.
In the welding round, Noah Homan emerged victorious, securing a spot in the 2024 IL FFA State Agriculture Mechanics Contest.
Homan will compete again at Illinois Central College in East Peoria, on May 2. In front of other FFA students from over the state, he will compete in a knowledge exam and many practical welding applications there.
