Especially in this society, it is easy and considered “normal” to judge others solely based on the way they react to things, or simply how they feel toward a topic. As a reminder that everyone has their own views toward something, small or large, junior Natalie Guetersloth and senior Peyton Cole conducted a small interview based around a topic as simple as cheerleading.
Natalie is a first year cheerleader, whereas Peyton has more experience. Therefore, this bluntly shows the different experiences that people can have, even in the same environment.
The two girls did not entirely disagree on everything, but they also, of course, had their own stances on certain things.
Natalie Gutersloth’s favorite sideline cheer is, “Hey, here we go, here we go, Orange Crush”.
Peyton Cole’s favorite is either the “Jacket Power” cheer or the “Bring it” cheer.
Both also favor different school songs, as well having different “least favorite” things revolving around cheer.
Natalie’s favorite school song is “Loyalty”, while Peyton’s is “Beer Beer”. Natalie’s LEAST favorite activity to do are pad drills, and Peyton’s is doing sidelines at practice. Guetersloth’s FAVORITE thing to do is stunt, and Peyton’s is “Hello”.
*”Hello” is a cheer designated to be done against the opposing teams cheerleaders. Usually these are more “sassy” and are done complimenting your team versus theirs.
Natalie and Peyton did agree on other things like being most excited to play the rivalry schools such as Red Bud and/or Sparta High School (49-2).
Both girls decided to give a piece of advice to those who may be too nervous to try out for Cheerleading.
First Year Cheerleader (Natalie) : “Just do it. It’s fun and exciting!”
Experienced Cheerleader (Peyton) : “Cheer is made out to be something way scarier than what it really is most of the time. You only have four years here, make the most of it! Don’t care about what others think of you.”
While this is just a small and silly interview, keep in mind that not everyone sees things the same way you do. Everyone has their own version of truth, as you have yours. This is something we cannot judge others for, as we do it ourselves.
