Chester Yellow Jackets are on a roll with their record being 4-0 and 1-0 in the Cahokia Conference. Chester hosted the Sparta Bulldogs this friday, and gave them a night. The game was off to a hot start. Chester’s defense was lock down against Sparta’s first offensive drive. Put them in a position to punt within their first 4 plays of the game, and Senior Nate Maes blocked the punt and was recovered by Junior Ethan Colvis. Senior Kolton and Junior Tray Peters took it in their own hands to run the ball in to jump the score 7-0
Ethan Colvis tackled a bulldog 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage to start Sparta’s second offensive drive. Kolton Kany records a huge 9 yard sack on 3rd and 17 forcing the Bulldogs to punt. Quarterback Zain Al-Jassim then hit Ethan Colvis for a touchdown for the second score of the game. Players were then forced off of the field for a 1 hour lighting delay. Sparta wanted to reschedule the game, but Chester wasn’t having it.
