Chester advanced to the finals of the Chester Invitational Tournament with a 71-37 win over Perryville on Jan. 10.

Keith Kiner III led Chester with 20 points. Ian Reith scored 15 and Colin Wingerter netted 13, including three three-pointers. Drake Bollman contributed nine points, Jake Cushman six, Deondre Martin five and Chett Andrews three on a three-pointer.

The Yellow Jackets will play Cobden in the title game at 7:30 p.m. on January 16. The games originally set for Jan. 12 were rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Chester opened play in the 2019 Chester Invitational Tournament with a 77-46 win over Valmeyer.

Kiner led Chester with 20 points. Reith added 11 and Cushman ten. Bollman, Wingerter, Matt Korando and Andrews tallied eight each. Jordan Hughes and Aidan Jany had two points each.

The Yellow Jackets basketball team is set to face the Cobden Apple Knockers.
