Ms. Diercks and her SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) club held their annual SADD week from October 28 to November 1! This week held many different activities for club members and students all over the high school to participate in!
The club held Dress-Up Days for the entire school, students and staff, to partake in! Monday was pajama day, Tuesday was different age groups where the Freshman were dressed as babies, Sophomores were toddlers, Juniors were parents, Seniors were Senior citizens, and the Staff was teenagers, and then Wednesday was hat day, Thursday was Halloween so people were allowed to wear their costumes, and finally Friday was school spirit day!
The club members also went around Chester putting red ribbons on things such as light posts and statues! To further show that CHS is a substance-free school, they handed out bracelets to all students and some grade-schoolers to remind them to stay sober. They even filmed a fun TikTok on the official CHS SADD account!
On Thursday, October 31, SADD held their Halloween Costume Contest during RTI! There were four categories for the contest: Best Group, Funniest, Scariest, and Most Original. Sadie Sellers and Nate Maes won Best Group as a fireman and Dalmatian and were gifted a $30 Walmart gift card to split. Victor Fuentes won the funniest costume as he was dressed up as Ted Lasso, and he won a $20 gift card. Eli Hickman won scariest costume as a Scream character with a flashing face, and also won a $20 Walmart gift card. And finally Brayan Cates won most original costume as a Knight and was also gifted a $20 Walmart gift card!
Finally, SADD held a pep assembly for the first play-off game. At the pep assembly, the band played the school songs, football students tested out drunk goggles, the cheer team showed off their new cheer, and Mr. Blechle hyped the students up for the game!
