The Lady Jackets basketball team started their non-tournament regular season with a tough loss in overtime to Johnston City on November 25th. Regulation ended 47-47, and the final score was 47-54. Rylie Conley led the scoring with 14 points as well as 12 rebounds. Jessie Stumpe had 10 points. Lexie Mott with 8, Marlie Caby added 7, rounded out by Lillian Diskey with 5, Aubrey Coleman with 2, and Riley Lochhead adding a free throw. On November 26th they had their first home game hosting St. Vincent the lady jackets fell 26-54. Scoring included Lexie Mott with 15, Riley Lochhead with 4, Lillian Diskey with 3, and Jessie Stumpe and Rylie Conley each added 2. The next week they traveled to Wesclin to open up conference play, falling 66-31, and Gibault, with a close loss 44-33. In Wesclin Lexie Mott led scoring with 18. The scoring in Gibault included Lexie Mott with 14, Jessie Stumpe with 8, Aubrey Coleman with 5, Rylie Conley with 4, and Marlie Caby with 2. On Thursday, December 5th, Carlyle traveled to the Chester Grade School to face the Lady Jackets, due to a concert in the high school gymnasium. Carlyle being ranked #4 in 2a had a very good start taking a demanding lead. Chester was then able to outscore them in the second quarter and went into halftime down 14. The game ended 75-39 as Carlyle’s pressure became too much to overcome. Rylie Conley led the scoring with 12 points, Lexie Mott added 11, Lillian Diskey had 8, Aubrey Coleman with 4, and Jessie Stumpe and Marlie Caby added 2 each. After a tough stretch of games and a 6 game losing streak the Lady Jackets were able to bounce back with a conference win over Sparta 59 to 42 on Tuesday, December 10th. Lexie Mott led the scoring with 23. Followed by Jessie Stumpe with 16. Rylie Conley added 11 Aubrey Coleman had 3 and Lillian Diskey, Riley Lochhead, and Marlie Caby each had 2.
