Mrs. Kern was nominated to be the Teacher of the Month for December! She was asked four questions, and here are her responses:
1. What has been your favorite part about teaching?
- My favorite part about teaching is watching my students finally understand something that they have been struggling with. Watching them get excited over their accomplishments is really one of the greatest things I get to do.
2. How do you feel about this year’s Dance Team?
- Every team I have coached is special. This season’s team is extremely dedicated and hardworking. This team is the first team that we have taken two competition routines to competition and that is very impressive on the teams part. I absolutely love working with this team and cannot wait to see what the rest of the season looks like for them.
3. You’re in charge of the Prom Committee, do you have anything special planned?
- I hope to really encourage the committee to think outside the box and plan a prom they will never forget. This is all about the committee, Mrs. Durbin and myself are just there to help and encourage creativity.
4. And finally, what motivates you to wake up in the morning and continue to work here at Chester High School?
- I graduated from CHS in 2006, my husband and I still live in Chester and we both are coaches. Staying here at CHS, I hope to help the CHS students be proud of where they are from and enjoy being in High School. I love being a YellowJacket and I hope all the students at CHS do too.
Thank you Mrs. Kern for taking the time to answer my questions in such amazing detail!
