Foods Class Offers Super Fare

The Foods II class has completed its 3rd Annual Foods 2 Appetizer Bowl. Dishes were made during the month of January leading up to Super Bowl Sunday.

The kitchen representing the Chicago Bears staged a fourth-quarter comeback by overtaking the New England Patriots, who led after the second and third rounds.

Each lab group was assigned a team who had a playoff berth. They embody that team’s region and culture to develop three assigned appetizer dishes: Round 1-Sandwiches, Round 2-Wings, Round 3-Hot Dips; Round 4-APPETIZER BOWL III.

A tally of the scores are kept each round and standings are posted. Winning team wins the Appetizer Bowl Title, the Foods Class Traveling Trophy for the unit, and an individual prize from Petrowske.

The leader after the first round was the purple kitchen with their Heart Attack Burger. The entry was connected to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Patriots moved ahead in the second and third rounds. The Bears won stage 4 with bacon-wrapped tator tots that fit the Chicago moniker as “Hog Butcher of the World.”*

After the wings round, the New England Patriots moved into first.
