Album #1: 9 Lives by Koe Wetzel
Favorite Song: Sweet Dreams
Notes: I’m personally not the biggest country listener, but I really enjoyed this album. Koe Wetzel’s vocals and ability to make up a fun and original instrumental really kept me interested in this album. I loved this album so much and struggled picking one song to call my favorite. “Sweet Dreams” is so good, as he approaches the situation in the song with understanding his part in it all. Most songs like to push the blame on other things, but this one took a different perspective that I really loved.
Album #2: Lovesick by Molly Grace
Favorite Song: Lover (Love Her)
Notes: I will not lie, I did not enjoy this album that much. That being said, I love Molly Grace’s voice and her enthusiasm when singing. You can tell she really enjoys what she does, and isn’t doing this just for a quick paycheck. She’s passionate about her music. I would love to see where Grace goes with her music career, and I think with a bit more practice in writing, she could make some phenomenal music.
Album #3: Floor Seats by A$AP Ferg
Favorite Song: Dreams, Fairytales, Fantasies (feat. Brent Faiyaz & Salaam Remi)
Notes: At first, I thought this would be your basic R&B album, but I was quickly proven wrong while listening to this. “Floor Seats” introduces a handful of features from other artists, which definitely kept it very interesting and fun to listen to. I enjoyed the upbeat vibe that everything had in this album, as it was a lot of fun. I found myself enjoying each and every song, as they all were different enough to never bore you, but similar enough to show that they all belonged on the same album. I recommend this album to all rap fans.
