The Chester Football team selected a practice player of the week on Monday, August 18th. Practice players of the week shows teamwork, good work ethic, and help their teammates get better. The coaches all get together at the end of the week to select this player, and this week, Senior Isaac Sims was selected. He plays Offensive Line and Defensive Line. He was asked what he likes most about football, and he replied, “I like hitting people on defense.” This is Isaac’s first year playing football in high school, and he is doing great.
Along with the Practice Player of the Week, the football team also handed out a Special Teams Player of the Week. This award goes to a player who shows hard work and the will to get better. Junior, Karim Landeros, was given this award. Landeros has been playing football for all three years of his high school career. He is the Varsity Kicker, Punter, and PAT Kicker, along with Offensive Tackle and Defensive End. He is looking to have a great season this year as well.
