The Chester Yellow Jackets took down the East Alton Wood River Oilers (55-0) on Friday, August 29th. Both teams were going into their first game of the season, hoping for a win. The Yellow Jackets were dominant on both sides of the ball. The defense held the Oilers to -29 rushing yards and only 124 passing yards.
Kanon Jany led the teams in tackles, with 4 solo, 4 assisted, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for a loss. On offense, the Yellow Jackets also dominated, rushing for 363 yards and 6 touchdowns, and passing for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ethan Colvis led the team in rushing yards, with 119 yards on 9 touches, and Tashawn Palacio led the team in receiving yards with 89 yards on 3 receptions. Ethan Colvis and Alex Blechle each scored 2 touchdowns. Tray Peters, Zane Eggemeyer, Tashawn Palacio, and Anthony Keeton also had a touchdown.
