The Chester Yellow Jackets welcomed the Wesclin Warriors at home on Sept. 26th. Coming into the game, Chester had a 3-1 record, and Wesclin had a 1-3 record.
The game started as a standoff, both teams tying, but in the end, Chester came out on top. On offense, Chester had a total of 309 yards, with 208 passing yards and 111 rushing yards. Senior, Tray Peters, threw for 203 yards and 5 passing touchdowns. Junior, Tashawn Palacio, led the team with 129 receiving yards and 5 receiving touchdowns, with Junior Trey McCartney with 76 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Junior Zane Eggemeyer also added a receiving touchdown. Senior Ethan Colvis led the team with 36 rushing yards, along with Junior Alex Blechle with 30, and Eggemeyer adding 25.
The defense held Wesclin to 211 yards, and was led by Colvis with 11 tackles total, 2 for a loss, and Palacio with 9. There were 3 interceptions, all by different players, including Senior Derrius Shoemate, Junior Kanon Jany, and Junior Zane Eggemeyer.
