The game of the month for October is Red Dead Redemption 2 or, RDR2, a single-player, open world, story game. RDR2 was released on October 26, 2018, as a prequel game to its 2010 game, Red Dead Redemption. The game takes place in 1899, marking the end of the outlaws and cowboys era. The story follows Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang, a posse of outcasts and unwelcome outlaws. RDR2’s main themes are betrayal in trust, and vengeance. The game’s main story can take 40 to 60 hours, with an epilogue following John Marston, the previous protagonist in Red Dead Redemption. The game also allows you to study animals and plants, and features many side quests that extend your playtime. The game also utilizes an honor system; if you have high honor, stores will give discounts of up to 50%, and townsfolk will be friendlier. Perks of low honor include better findings when scavenging, a unique horse, and certain outfits.. The story of RDR2 is truly heartbreaking, with the leader of the gang, whom Arthur sees as a mentor and closest companion, betraying him due to a new member deceiving the leader, which ultimately leads to the death and fall of the gang and its members. The graphics and detail of Red Dead Redemption 2 are extremely realistic. I rate this game 10/10; it’s a must play if you enjoy single player games.
