The next movie in this year’s Halloween portion of Movie of the Week is Fear Street: Prom Queen, released on May 23, 2025.
I started this year’s Halloween series with one of the best horror movies to come out this year, so it only feels fitting to review the worst horror movie released this year.
Fear Street: Prom Queen is not a Fear Street movie . It’s a horribly made, basic horror movie, set under the name of an amazing Trilogy just for views. Not only did they use the “Fear Street” name for views, they also put Ariana Greenblatt all over the poster and advertisements only for her to be in the movie for maybe 20 minutes at most.
The original trilogy of Fear Street follows an amazing storyline that is not only ignored as a plot point, but isn’t even mentioned once. The whole reason Fear Street is as popular as it is, is because of the plot points of the first three movies. Don’t get me wrong, Prom Queen would make some sort of sense if it were set to a time after the events of the third movie, but it’s set in between movies 1 and 2. The plot in a timeline standpoint, is still actively on going, not to mention the possession of Sarah Feir once, while being set when the plot of the original movies is currently still going, is the worst choice I’ve ever seen in a horror movie.
The actors really gave it their all. They did what they could with a horribly written movie, with horrible dialogue and plot points. The only thing good about this movie is the kill scenes. Following the original three movies, the kills are inventive and shockingly gory. Still, that in no way makes up for the horrific writing of the movie.
I’m sure you can guess, but I rate this movie a 0/10; IT SUCKS. I do not recommend this movie to anyone, ever. If you have any movie suggestions, please feel free to email me. Happy Halloween Month!!!!!!
