Our Student Council did an amazing job last Thursday decorating for the Sweetest Night of the Year! Jurgens gym was decorated to their “Candyland” theme based on the 1948 board game, having each corner of the gym as one of the game’s lands or stops as seen in the actual board game. These lands included Snowflake Lake, Lollipop Woods, Gumdrop Mountains, and Peppermint Forest.
These students had all day Thursday to prepare the gym for Saturday’s dance and they most definitely delivered. Not only did the game represent the theme of Candyland, but walking into the gym felt like stepping over the starting line of the actual game. There were floor tiles laid out all over the gym to serve as pathways leading to different lands, a balloon arch with a candyland backdrop where students could take pictures, and of course lots of candy to go around.
We asked for the Sweetest Night of the Year, and the Student Council most definitely delivered! A huge thank you to all the members of Student Council including their sponsors, for helping to make this year’s homecoming sweet!
