Besiege the Castle in “Castle Crashers Remastered”

Wes Carpenter, Sting Entertainment Editor

Castle Crashers is a side-scrolling beat-em-up, in which you and up to 4 friends take control of four elemental knights. Each knight corresponds with an elemental power: the Red Knight has the power of electricity, the Blue Knight can harness the power of ice, the Orange Knight uses fire for his power, and the Green Knight controls poison.

Castle Crashers uses elements from many different genres in video games like RPGs where you have the ability to level up your character and change your loadouts such as your weapon and your animal orbs which help you by giving you special abilities or power-ups. It also is a side-scroller beat-em-up which is very self-explanatory in which the game screen scrolls sideways and you just beat up the enemies on screen.

Castle Crashers is a great game to play when you have friends over; many of my favorite moments were when I was playing with my cousins and friends. Even if you don’t think you will like it, just try it. The game was initially released in 2008 for the Xbox 360 and then 2010 for the Playstation 3. It has recently been remastered for the Nintendo Switch and the Playstation 4 and is only $20.

Compared to the price of games today, this is honestly a good price.
