Chester Earns Playoff Berth

The Chester Yellow Jackets celebrated Senior Night by scoring 28 unanswered points in a come-from-behind win over Carmi, 28-8, Oct. 18.
After spotting Carmi an 8-0 lead, The second half was all Chester with four touchdowns. Ethan Bert, who rushed for 101 yards, scored a two-yard run. Jordan Merideth scored on a 28-yard run. and Dylan Kelkoff had two touchdowns, each from 3 yards. Jared Landeros was 100% on the night, kicking in all four extra points.
Ian Reith had a fumble recovery and interception on defense.
Chester improved to 6-2 and will be in the playoffs for the third straight season. The Yellow Jackets finish the regular season at Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton on Oct. 25.
