In the first round of the Murphysboro tournament, Chester beat Lovejoy 51 to 39.

Ian Reith led Chester with 15 points, with DeOndre Martin scoring 14 points, Matthew Korando scoring 8 points, Jared Landeros scoring 6 points, Jordan Hughes scoring 4 points, and finally Chett Andrews scoring 3 points.

Andrews suffered an injury in the game.

The second round was much more heated in a game against Murphysboro. Chester unfortunately lost to Murphy 48 to 42. DeOndre Martin led Chester with 18 points, with Jared Landeros scoring 11 and Ian Reith scoring 10 points and recovering a total of 9 rebounds. On the final stretch of the game in the 4th quarter there were many fouls by both teams, totaling 30 free throws, 18 of which were Murphy’s and 12 of which were Chester’s.

Chester plays in the final round of the tournament tonight for the 3rd place spot.
