Distance of Love

Emma Bryant, Editor

He never seemed to leave the city,
And all he felt was self-pity.
He couldn’t ever escape the imposter,
That made him feel like a bigger monster.

She was broken in a small town,
And never lost her ugly frown.
She had scars that laced her skin,
All her family saw her as, was a sin.

He saw that she was really lame,
But then he knew, they were the same.
She saw his fear through his eyes,
And soon he stopped all of her cries.

Their parents tried to stop them,
But they knew how to top them.
For marriage is most unbreakable,
And their love was unstoppable.

Their parents said it was useless,
That they were more than clueless.
But the distance has finally broken,
And they know that love is a token.

All they want is to be together,
Whatever it takes to be forever.
