Chester Captures Candy Cane Consolation

The Chester Lady Yellow Jackets won the consolation trophy of the Candy Cane tournament.

The Chester Lady Yellow Jackets won the consolation championship of the Gibault Girls Candy Cane Basketball Tournament with a 56-23 win over Valmeyer on Dec. 18.
Camrynn Howie led Chester with 17 points and Kaitlyn Absher scored 16. Alyssa Seymour, who was named to the all-tournament team, scored ten points. Jazzi Merideth scored six points, Rylie Conley four and Emma Diskey three.
Chester posted a 46-37 win over Metro East Lutheran on Dec. 16.

Alyssa Seymour was the leading scorer against Metro East Lutheran with 18 points. Kailyn Absher was also in double figures with ten points. Rylie Conley scored eigth points. Camrynn Howie and Jazzi Merideth netted six points each.
Chester opened tourney play with a 52-36 loss to the host school on Dec. 14. Senior Alyssa Seymour scored 24 points and pulled down 22 rebounds, setting the new school career rebounding record.

Howie scored six points and Merideth and Conley netted four each. Kailyn Absher scored two points.

Chester next plays in the Red Bud holiday tournament.
