Chester Golfers Advance To Sectional

The Chester boys’ golf team took third at the regional to advance as a team to the sectional. They took eighth at the sectional.

The Chester Yellow Jackets Boys’ Golf Team improved their record to 46-21 with a 3rd place finish at regionals and wins over Murphysboro and Sparta. The regional finish advanced the Jackets to next week’s sectional at Effingham.
The Chester Yellow Jackets Boys’ Golf Team traveled to West Frankfort to compete in the Regionals Tournament. The Chester Boys shot a team score of 341, putting them in 3rd place slipping them just ahead of West Frankfort (344), Zeigler Royalton (344), and Steeleville (347), but falling short of Trico (332) and Anna-Jonesboro (322). After a hard-fought day, the Chester Golf Boys will be advancing to Sectionals as a team for only the 4th time in school history. Gage Hasemeyer led the Yellow Jackets with a score of 83 (+12). Noah Homan followed right behind him with a personal record round of 84 (+13). Other Varsity Chester scores were as follows: Clayton Andrews 86 (+15), Chance Mott 88 (+17), Aidan Blechle 96 (+25), and Lucas Thompson 104 (+33).
The Chester Yellow Jackets Boys’ Golf Team traveled to Murphysboro to compete in their last 9-hole match of the season on September 26th. The Chester Boys shot a team score of (165), beating Sparta (176), and Murphysboro (191). Gage Hasemeyer medaled and led the Jackets with a round of 38, 3 over par, (+3). Other Varsity Chester scores were as follows: Clayton Andrews 40 (+5), Evan Dunning 43 (+8), Chance Mott 44 (+9), Lucas Thompson 47 (+12), and Aidan Blechle 50 (+15).
