The Chester Yellow Jackets Boys Basketball Team took on Pinckneyville at home on Wednesday, Nov. 23, losing 55-22.

The freshmen played the first game and had a rough first three quarters. They played great in the 4th and started to mount a comeback, but it was unfortunately too late and they ended up taking a loss. Tray Peters led the Freshman in scoring.

The Junior Varsity team kept it close in the first quarter but after a second-quarter run from Pinckneyville, they found themselves trying to crawl back into the game. Pinckneyville kept its foot on the gas and Chester wasn’t able to mount any sort of comeback.

The Varsity Team came out hot and was keeping up with Picknevyille through the first three quarters. After going into the 4th quarter up 10 points, Pickneyville went on a run giving the Chester boys their first loss of the season, 55-22.

Senior Gavin Schroeder led the team in scoring with 11 points.

The Varsity Boys will play in the Murphysboro Tournament this week playing their first game on Monday, Nov. 28, against Murphysboro at 7 pm. They will then face Harrisburg on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 5:30 pm and Lovejoy on Friday, December 2nd at 5:30. These games will determine when and who they play on Saturday, December 3rd.
