Jackets Use Strong Second Half To Clip Carlyle

The Chester Boys Basketball Team defeated Carlyle 46-36 on Wednesday, February 1.
The boys got off to a slow start in the first half and went into the half down 6 points. A strong second half helped lead the Jackets to their 46-36 win. Trace Fricke led the Jackets in scoring with 18. Gavin Schroeder and Chance Mott netted 12 points each and Devante Polacio scored 4.
The Jackets moved to 2nd in the conference with a 4-3 conference record.
The boys took on Okawville on Friday, January 27. The Jackets got off to a slow start and could never find their way back into the game. The boys lost 48-37. Chance Mott led the team in scoring with 13. Devante Polacio tallied 10, Trace Fricke 8, Gavin Schroeder 3, and Lucas Thompson 3.
Chester competed in the Pickneyville shootout against Waltonville on Saturday, January 28. The Jackets lost 40-38 in overtime. Palacio led Chester with 14 points.
The boys will play again on Friday, February 3rd, at Red Bud, with the next home game on Saturday, February 4, against Du Quoin.
