The Chester High School Yellow Jackets Baseball Team ended its season with a 9-7 loss to Pinckneyville in the first round of the Sparta Regional.
Chance Mott hit his third homer of the season in the loss.
The Jackets ended the season with a 14-11 record.
The Jackets defeated Murphysboro 6-5 on May 13.
Gage Hasemeyer homered for the Jackets. Chance Mott and Trace Fricke each had two hits and an RBI. Aden Runge had a hit and two RBIs. Kolton Jany stole two bases.
Chester played at Grizzlies Ballpark in Sauget May 11, posting a 13-2 win over Festus (Mo.).

Evan Bland led the offense with a three-run home run. Chester improved to 13-10.

Chester opens play in the Sparta Regional with a home game May 15 against Pinckneyville.

The Jackets finished second in the Illinois division of the Cahokia Conference after a 5-2 win over Red Bud.

The Jackets got off to a hot start, scoring all five runs in the first inning. Kolton Jany hit his first home run of the year, giving him three RBIs. Aden Runge recorded the other two RBIs for the Jackets. Aden Runge and Evan Bland recorded a stolen base each. Evan Bland pitched three innings for the Jackets, giving up two hits and one run. Evan Dunning pitched four innings, giving up four hits and one run.

The Chester Yellow Jackets moved to 11-10 after a 11-8 win over Valmeyer on May 8.

The Jackets scored 11 runs and outhit the Pirates 16-9. The Jackets started the game hot, scoring eight runs in the first two innings. Chance Mott and Matt James hit back-to-back home runs over the fence. Mott led the team with four RBIs. James had two. Gage Hasemeyer, Koby Jany, Aden Runge, Evan Bland, and Trace Fricke all had one each. Bland had two stolen bases. Tray Peters, Aron Korando, and Matt James had one each.
Trace Fricke pitched 3.1 innings, giving up six hits and six runs. Aidan Blechle pitched 3.1 innings, giving up three hits and two runs.
