The Lady Jackets Basketball Team opened the 2018-19 season strong with a 2nd Place finish at the 2018 Sparta Girls Basketball Tournament. November 12 through 17.  The Jackets won four-of-five games to finish in second place with wins over Trico, 57-43; Sparta, 61-44; Red Bud, 44-31; and Steeleville, 47-32. The Jacket’s only loss was a hard-fought down-to-the-wire contest against Sesser-Valier with the Jackets failing in the final two minutes of the game to lose, 53-41.  

Destiny Williams, a CHS junior, was selected to the 2018 Sparta Girls Tournament “All-Tournament Team.”  in the tournament Williams recorded 99 points, 19 assists, seven rebounds, 17 steals, eight deflections, and four blocked shots.

Reese Chandler, a CHS sophomore, was selected to the 2018 Sparta Girls Basketball “All-Tournament Team” as well.  Chandler finished the tournament with 54 points, 19 rebounds, seven steals, four deflections, two blocked shots, and one assist.

Fresh off their second place finish in the Sparta Invitational tournament the Lady Yellow Jackets beat Sparta at home. The final score was 67-44. Chester hosts Vienna tonight starting at 6:15 p.m.
