The Chester boys basketball team finished third in the Trico-Murphysboro tourney after beating Sparta 50-33.

Ian Reith and Drake Bollman were named to the all-tournament team.

Ian Reith and Colin Wingerter led the balanced scoring attack with 14points each. Drake Bollman was also in double figures with 12 points.  Jakob Cushman added six points and Keith Kiner III and Jared Landeros had two points each.

The Chester boys basketball team went 4-1 in the tourney. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the third place game after beating Lovejoy 75-55.

Drake Bollman led all scorers with 21 points.  Keith Kiner III tallied 17 points, Ian Reith 15, Colin Wingerter 12, Jakob Cushman five Deondre Martin four and Matt Korando four.

Chester (3-1) plays Sparta at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The championship game between Murphysboro andSteeleville is at 7 p.m. The tourney finals will be played at Trico.

The Yellow Jackets offense came up big in their 69-41 win over Confluence JV on Thursday. Colin Wingerter was the leading scorer with 13 points on the night.

The Chester Yellow Jackets opened its season with a 59-24 win over North Tech in the opening round of the Trico-Murphysboro tourney.

Ian Reith led Chester with 25 points. Keith Kiner scored nine, Colin Wingerter eight, Drake Bollman six, Matt Korando seven, Jakob Cushman three and Deondre Martin one.

The Yellow Jackets basketball team dropped their second game of the tournament to Murphysboro on Nov. 28. The final score of the game was 39-36. The Jackets struggled to score in the last 4 minutes of the game as Murphysboro ended the game on a 12-0 run. Turnovers and missed free throws proved to be killer for the Jackets.
