On October 18th, the CHS football game showed off different sport groups that participated during the fall. One of these many groups was the CHS Cross Country team!

The Cross Country team only has two seniors, Ivanovich Duran and Will Welge! The two XC members were asked a series of questions about their time on the team and their plans after graduation.

The first XC senior we interviewed was Will Welge! Will Welge has been on the team for four years and said the sole reason he joined was simply because his parents made him do a sport. Will mentioned that his favorite memory from Cross Country was going to the restaurant Buffalo Wild Wings after regionals! His advice for anyone thinking about trying out for Cross Country is to make sure you do pre-season workouts. After graduation, Will wishes to go to college and study music technology.

Ivanovich Duran is the other senior in Cross Country. He’s only been in it for one year, and said the reason he joined was because he simply wanted to try something new! His favorite Cross Country memory was hanging out with Victor Fuentes and joking about how Will passed him. His advice for someone wanting to try out is to just keep practicing. After high school, Ivanovich would love to be a flight attendant!
