Album #1: Hope Handwritten by Hope Tala
Favorite Song: Miracle
Notes: This was a suggestion from Will Welge. “Hope Handwritten” is my favorite album on this list, as the personal writing that Hope puts out is just amazing. I loved the groovy and soft style her music has, and I’m surprised she’s not more popular as an artist. The ability to write music like this is so rare to find in artists, so I’m happy I was introduced to her. This is a unique and perfect album that I 100% recommend.
Album #2: Pretty Evil by Ellise
Favorite Song: Dead Girl Dreaming
Notes: I used to be a fan of Ellise years ago and stopped listening to her music because I just simply grew out of that style. So when I rediscovered her and saw she put out a brand new album, I had to listen to it. “Pretty Evil” sounds just like every other Ellise album, as her music hasn’t really evolved any since I last listened to her. The album gives off the vibe of her trying too hard to be “edgy,” so it was a little cringe at times. That being said, there were also a handful of good songs on here too. It’s not the best, but not the worst album out there.
Album #3: Lose Yourself by Kiss Of Life
Favorite Song: Get Loud
Notes: This EP was very underwhelming. Kiss Of Life has made good K-Pop music before, but this EP was very basic and didn’t really bring anything new to the table. I didn’t hate it, but I definitely didn’t love it either. It was just okay, and I probably won’t be listening to it again. “Get Loud” was the only song I could actually somewhat enjoy.
