Chester finished 1-2 in the Carbondale Girls’ Mid-Winter Classic after beating Mt. Vernon on Jan. 19.

Chester improved to 14-12.

Josie Kattenbraker and Kendall Williams led Chester with 13 points each. Destiny Williams, an all-tournament selection, scored nine points. Reese Chandler tallied seven and Alyssa Seymour six.

 In the first game in the Carbondale tournament Jan. 15, Chester lost to Carbondale 57-46.

The game was very fast-paced and aggressive from both ends. Kendall Williams, the lead scorer for Chester with a total of 16 points, executed very well in all aspects. Closely following Kendall Williams, Destiny Williams helped lead the team with 14 points. Other scorers were Reese Chandler with 8 points, Alyssa Seymour with 3 points. Josie Kattenbraker, with 3 points and Audrey Hopper with 2 points. 

Chester lost to Marion 44-37 on Jan. 17.

Chandler hit three three-pointers and ended the night with 13 points. Destiny Wiliams scored eight. Kattenbraker and Seymour scored six each.
