To end the Halloween season this year, I have chosen to review a movie I watched last year in theaters, Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Five Nights at Freddy’s released in 2024 follows the story of Mike as he starts his new job as a night shift security guard for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. However, he quickly realizes that the animatronics aren’t quite what they seem, and he often feels like they’re watching him. The animatronics though are very fond of Mike’s younger sister, whom Mike got the job for just so he can keep her in his custody. Throughout the movie, audiences watch on the edge of their seats to see what happens next.

I love this movie. I watched it with my sister and it was absolutely amazing and I am so excited to watch the second one being released on December 5, 2025. The jumpscares are good, but if there was one thing I wish was different it was that we saw too much of the animatronics. In the game, the scary thing about it is that the animatronics are very much in and out of the screen, so you never really know where they are. While I understand putting more backstory on the animatronics, it got rid of the game feeling to the movie.
