This year’s senior night for football took place during the last home game against the Nashville Hornets on October 24, 2025. The 2026 senior football players who were honored are Trayton Peters, Ethan Colvis, Brayden Juenger, Morgan Miers, Derrius Shoemate, Jakob Steuve, Isaac Sims, Reed Creason, Caleb Coffey, and Trevor Keeton.

Now here’s why they decided to stay in football for all those years.

Trayton Peters began playing football when he was six, starting with the Stingers and continuing with the Yellow Jackets. He just fell in love with the sport. His favorite memory is reaching the home playoff game this year. After high school, he plans to enter the workforce as a machine operator.

Ethan Colvis has been playing football for the past five years. His passion for the sport is deeply rooted in family history, having both his father and grandfather play and taking him to watch the Jackets. His plans after high school is to continue playing football while studying criminal justice.

Brayden Juenger has been playing football his entire life, starting as a Stinger and finishing as a Yellow Jacket. It is his favorite sport. His favorite memory is beating Duquoin for the first time in 24 years, making football history. After high school, he plans to join the Millwrights Union and enter the workforce.

Morgen Miers started playing football at the age of six with the Stingers. At first, he didn’t want to continue, but his parents would not let him quit. Now, as a Yellow Jacket, he is glad he stuck with it and hopes to use his newfound strength to join the military or play in college.

This is Isaac Sims’ first year playing football. As a fan and proud Yellow Jacket, he enjoyed watching the team play. After being encouraged by the coaches to try out for the team, he decided to give it a shot and “digged it”, leading him to join the team. After graduation, Simms plans on serving his country by joining the US Coast Guard.

Trevor Keeton decided to join the team because football is his favorite sport. What he loves the most is the strong sense of camaraderie of his team.
