December’s teacher of the month is Mr. Tullis. This is his first year at CHS, where he teaches Freshmen and Senior English. In the interview, Tullis said that he has been enjoying his first year at CHS. He said he likes the teachers, students and the environment of the school itself, it feels like home.
Tullis’s reason for becoming a teacher was that he was always good at talking to others, and a friend in high school recommended the job to him. When asked what other subjects he would want to teach other than English he listed History, Sociology, Anthropology and Civics. He also said that if there were any other job he would do other than being a teacher, it would be a museum tour guide since he’s good at talking to people. I think Tullis would be a wonderful museum tour guide because he explains things clearly and connects well with people
At the end of the interview, Tullis said that his inspiration in life was “Back to the Future”. He also said “the future is what you make it” which I think is such an inspirational message to the young people
