Hello, my name is Raven Rinderer, I am a sophomore at Chester High School. Right now, I have an idea of what I want to do with my life, including college (SIU Carbondale) and what I want to go to be (Social worker). I thank you all for being here, reading my work, and helping me along the way. I’ve won the first 3 poetry competitions in a row, and the 4th I got second, and I am so proud of myself. Thank you all for being supportive and encouraging me to write more! I love you all.
I know most of you would expect a deeper poem from me seeing as that is all I do usually, but to follow along with the heartwarming theme. I decided not to make a sad version, so have fun reading the softer side of my poetry!
“Falling Snow”
As I lay down to go to bed
I turn to my side to comfort my head
I watch the snow fall down like rain
The snow on the ground is melting my brain
The snow falls slowly prickling landing on the ground
It falls slowly, not even making a sound
As I close my eyes praying to sleep
I rest my head falling in deep
My dreams roam free
I’m where I’m meant to be
I breathe in and out
The quietness in the room making it seem like a shout
My bed turns into clouds of snow
I shiver as I see a glow
Snow glistens on my face
The glow in the distance is a fireplace
The fire is warm and kind
Dreams like this are hard to find.
