Album #1: Moisturizer by Wet Leg
Favorite Song: “Mangetout”
Notes: Wet Leg’s newest album, Moisturizer, is a bold pop-punk sound that is just so much fun and puts you in a summery mindset. It’s colorful and euphoric and all about love and entertainment. If you couldn’t tell, I love this album and highly recommend it to everyone.
Album #2: Coastal Grooves by Blood Orange
Favorite Song: “Instantly Blank (The Goodness)”
Notes: What a jaw-dropping album this one is, I mean I love it so much. This album is pure artistry and style. Out of all of the albums I have ever reviewed for The Sting, this one may be my all time favorite. There’s just so much beauty on this album and it has so many perspectives, yet they all find a sense of belonging among each other. Blood Orange truly made the perfect album.
Album #3: Cinema by The Marías
Favorite Song: “Hush”
Notes: Cinema was The Marías’ debut album, which is very different from their more popular album, Submarine. Cinema is grungy and much louder than the softer material in Submarine. Both albums are so insanely raw and emotional, but I do believe I enjoyed this one more.
