CHS has announced six State Scholars. Honorees include David August, Addison Gottschammer, Trevor Keeton, Erin Liefer, Rylie Myers, and Camryn Wolff. They achieved so much during their high school years thanks to the support of their parents, teachers, peers, and others. Each student has a bright future ahead.
Throughout grade school and high school, David August maintained a 4.0 GPA. He is continuing his musical career in the Yellow Jacket marching, pep, jazz, and concert bands. He has earned multiple awards for concerts and band performances. He is continuing his education by taking online classes for Composition and Music Production.
Addison Gottschammer has maintained high grades throughout grade school and high school. She was a member of the Beta Club, where she learned the importance of community service. In high school, she fell in love with golf and played all four years. Gottschammer is the president of the Student Council, the Spanish Club, and the Interact Club, and she is vice president of the Students Against Destructive Decisions(SADD). In her junior year of high school, Gottschammer was chosen to be one of the drum majors for the Marching Yellow Jackets. As a senior, she was selected to serve on State Senator Terri Bryant’s Youth Advisory Council. Addison’s honor went from a 4.0 GPA student to a member of the government. Gottschammer plans to go to college to study health science and become a pediatrician.
Trevor Keeton has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout grade school and high school. He loves to play football and has played since junior high. Keeton is an important player on the CHS football team. He helped the team with back-to-back Cahokia Conference, Illinois Division Championships. Keeton plans to attend college to earn a degree in engineering.
Erin Liefer attended high school for her secondary education. In school, her favorite activities are volleyball and track and field. Erin also plays the saxophone in the CHS marching, pep, and concert bands. She is still undecided about what she wants to do after college.
Throughout high school, Rylie Myers has participated in numerous clubs and sports, such as the Lady Jacket Golf team, Interact club, Spanish club, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), National Honor Society (NHS), and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). Myers earned a Distinguished Yellow Jacket award for being outstanding in class. She has maintained a 4.0 GPS throughout high school. After graduation, she plans to continue her education, but is undecided about which college to attend.
Camryn Wolff attended St. Mary’s Catholic School from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, then transferred to St. John’s Lutheran School for sixth through eighth grade. In eighth grade, she earned the title of class salutatorian. Wolff attended CHS for her secondary education. During her time at Chester High School, she was a member of the volleyball and softball teams. Wolff is the president of the National Honor Society and secretary of her Class of 2026, as well as Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Interact club, The Hive Pep club, and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). Wolff is planning to go to college and become an anesthetist.
