I’m Rev! I am the Writers’ Circle president and write frequently. I am also very much exhausted.
The poem is simple! I figured I would be vague, but it is about how it feels to fall in love! Especially quickly and gently.
Love At First Sight
It was when the grass grew blue, shadowed by the brood patch of a cloud,
And the branches of a walnut tree bowed for an antsy little squirrel, excited
For the presents it would receive down below. It was when the floorboards
In the swollen home grew quiet, when its occupants danced and floated,
When the tension fell and harmony returned in painted streaks of dust. It was
When the ice caps grew sturdy and the polar bears returned to fishing, when
The fish were no longer farmed in destructive swarms, when the lungs of nature
Breathed fresh air. It was when the quaking world halted, and all of the storms
Subsided, when the dying doe was resuscitated and her new fawn free to frolic
And graze.
It all happened so fast.
