High school is an important time for students to start thinking about their future careers and plans. It’s never too early to start thinking about your dreams and where you might want to go in the future. Ms. Meisner has recognized this and will be hosting a Career Fair for students who want to get some ideas of possible careers. It might even open students’ eyes to new opportunities that they haven’t thought of before.
The event will be happening on Friday, March 27 at Chester High School in Colbert Gym, starting around 8:30 am lasting until 11:45 pm. The fair will consist of multiple different popular and unpopular career choices. Some career choices that will be there are, healthcare, trades, public services and military. Students will be able to walk around, talk and ask questions with the different vendors.
Scott Rust, the owner of Dairy Queen stated, “I enjoy coming to career fairs. I get to meet the local youth and hopefully will find some work candidates.”
Another representative named Chris Collins, who was there for “Aviation Careers”, claims, “I was invited to introduce Aviation Careers, which is something I’m very passionate about. There are some fantastic opportunities in the aviation careers that students should know about, because sometimes this career is forgotten about.
One of the students participating in the fair, Kenna Thompson said, “I had so much fun looking at all the different careers and I definitely found a couple I will put some more research into”
Freshman visited from 8:30 to 9:30, sophomores from 9:30 to 10:30 and last but not least will be Seniors and parents from 10:30 to 11:45.
Some students will have a base of what they would like their career to be by the time they reach high school but it is completely normal to have no ideas or to be scared. For these students struggling with picking, this Career Fair is a perfect chance for them to come out of their comfort zone and maybe even find their dream career. We hope to see you there.
